It's darn hard to find a simple one disc CD player ...

What about getting a CD walkman and hooking it into line-in?

Huh. Target?

You probably have to get something that's also an alarm clock, coffee maker, toaster, television, and sofabed.

Buy a one disc DVD player. It should do the job. :)

They just don't make single disc CD players anymore (I know, because I looked). Inconvenient when you don't really want a multi-disc changer or need a DVD player.

Oh, my. Ebay or Amazon, yes.

It's amazing what great-sounding players you can get for relatively small change now. I got an amazing 5-disc changer that just flat out SOUNDS good, for $60. Better than my old (and high-end but not that high-end) one. I mean, $60 for a player that originally cost over $800 and has a THD levels that are still lower than anything new I can find including Blu-ray and HDCD players. You can actually hear the difference. It's creeeeepy. ;) People are still paying serious bucks for the one-disc-and-unit-weighs-in-at-40# Yamaha CDX-1xxxU line (originally over a grand).
