It's been out there for a few weeks now. Anyone have anything to say about the CD?

We have a new CD!

With recording anyway. Our friend Nate Logsdon came in and did a trumpet part for Corvus. Lizzie, Donna and I did our last bits Sunday.

Donna is going to work on EQs and rough mixes and we get together again on Wednesday to start on the detail work. We should be able to send this out on time. I was hoping we would have it done by OVFF, but I don't see that happening.

For those of you who like the song Critters, Matt Hawk has done drawings of all of them. You can see them here !!!

Rough mixes have been sent to Susan. She will be here Friday, at which point she spends entirely too much time in the studio recording! Tonight Lizzie is working on master vocals. Tomorrow, more of her master vocals and I record my three vocal tracks for the album. Yep, I sing on this one ... on three different songs even!

Next week I record guitar overdubs, hand drums and re-record a couple of guitar tracks that went awry. Jared will probably help with the hand drums.

We got a quick mockup of the artwork for the album cover from Shawna, it looks marvelous!

I need to price CD duplication, I won't be going with the company that did out last CD. I hate it when people try to upsell me when their prices are already a bit higher than the other companies that I looked at (later, I needed to do more research last time).

We had the inimitable Andy Anda on stage with us today. This may have been the best show we have played together. Everything just locked. Also, this was the first show in almost a year that I played standing up. It felt wonderful.

The rest of the day ...

We took off from Ames around 9:30 this morning. As soon as we were done we threw instruments into cases and ran them to the car and took off home since Jared's band Underdog Story were playing at The Space For Ames. We arrived with minutes to spare. They tore the place up. They have a new drummer who has added a lot to the band. And Jonah is playing rhythm guitar now, which adds a lot to the sound.

Now we are home. We are done. Tomorrow is rehearsal for the CD with John Conlan and Jared. But first, LOTS of sleep.

We want the sound of a happy cat on a song on the upcoming CD. The problem is neither of our cats have the volume necessary. Here is where you come in!
