ericcoleman: Cheshire Moon (Cheshire Moon)
We were going to re-start our First Wednesday shows next week, but realized that we just don't have it in us.

We are zoomed out, and we are quarantined out, so we're going to take a bit more time off.

If you want to hear what we are doing, we are still uploading a new song every other week to our Patreon page, and we should have some inklings of a new side project soon (if you have seen any of the videos Eric has done on his FB page lately, you have an idea of what that is).

We will poke our heads into online circles and such, but maybe just to watch.

Bandcamp Friday we will once again have our 2 for 1 sale. Buy a CD or Digital Download and get one of equal or lesser value free. Please help us out, we are trying to get new gear so we can do better home recordings, saving up for that nice microphone we've had our eyes on.

And a new song! And it's not an Arcana song!

Together Apart.

We've played this one live a few times. It's a story of this time.

Our page is a dollar a song. We are posting, at least, every other week. We will be upping that to every week as we get more of the Callenwood songs re-written.

Everything we make from Patreon goes towards the release of, hopefully, two new CDs later this year. Please help us out!

We took some time off after the 52 Songs year, but we are ready to go again.

Lizzie and I just spent a couple of hours recording demos of three songs, so we're a few weeks ahead. There are both levels per song, and two different monthly pledges. Minimum is one dollar a song.

We are working on a CD with songs influenced by the Tarot. 22 songs, all based on the Major Arcana.

You will also get new demos of Callenwood songs, as we get those re-written.

And you might get songs that are part of a later project, you never know ('cause we don't).

All proceeds will go towards funding the upcoming CDs, and better gear for recording.

The first new song will go live October 11!

All we need to do is get it duplicated, we will start that process tomorrow.

Tomorrow everyone from Patreon and those who pre-ordered will get an email with a link to the mp3s. It's not too late to pre-order! There is a link on the website, cheshiremoon.net.

Discs will be sent as soon as we have them, probably about 3 weeks. Please listen to the new versions, and please let us know what you think.

Thank you everyone who has been so good to us during this process, and through the last 7 years. You are a lot of the reason why we do this.

52 songs

The 52 Songs Project has come to an end of sorts. All that is left is to record the CD of the best songs.

We have put it up to a vote on our Patreon page and they have spoken. 16 songs from the 52. Callenwood songs were not eligible, they will be on their own CD soon enough.

There were a couple of surprises here and there. A couple bits of silliness snuck in sideways. Some of these songs we have been doing live this year, some have not been heard outside of the Patreon page.

The CD will be mostly acoustic, but we do want to try to get a couple of the songs done with a full band. It depends on time and money. The plan is to get into the studio this month, but that may be delayed depending on Lizzie's hand. She cracked a bone a month or so ago and it's been slow to heal.

We will be taking pre-orders when we are close to being done with recording. Our Patrons have raised enough to pay for the studio time, but we will need more to press the CDs. We'll talk about that when the time comes.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of the journey this year, from our Patrons to everyone who liked the new songs when we played them at shows. This has been incredible.

We played a lot of music this weekend. A lot of new songs. Susan was brilliant. Cathy sat in for a couple of songs (a sublime version of The Weaving, and wonderful drums on Solstice).

We bought a new CD display rack. It holds a lot. Two faces of each of the full length CDs, one facing of each of the EPs. And I'm looking at this and thinking ... we've done a lot of music in the last 6 years.

And now we are writing a ridiculous amount of new music. 19 songs this year on our Patreon page. We're several songs into the next CD, Callenwood is coming along nicely. There are songs from this project that will probably never show up anywhere else, they don't fit Cheshire Moon. But we are going to come up with a good album worth of stuff on just random songs alone as well as all the Callenwood songs.

Two brand new albums, two more well on their way. A good amount of live shows coming up. At least one more serious road trip this year. The new songs are coming to life live.

This is the most exciting time of my creative life. I blame Lizzie!

Lizzie describes this one as ...

Gargoyles of New Orleans
This is what happens when no sleep + hoodoo lore + song prompt get together in Lizzie's head and have mugwart tea... I give you.... Gargoyles of New Orleans. Johnny Cash as a pagan minstrel. Enjoy!

A dollar a week gets you a brand new song every week on Patreon! Two dollars a week gets you that and a CD of the best songs professionally recorded at the end of the year!

As some of you know, Cheshire Moon has launched a new venture: a Patreon!

What’s going on here? Well, we are part of a project alongside a slew of other deeply talented artists. The project is this: 1 new original song every week for a year. 52 songs in 52 weeks. And we wanted the chance to share it with all of you!

There are 2 levels of participation, lots of other good things besides music coming down the path, and we will continue to add as we go along! Also, since we’re already underway, if you decide to join us you’ll get the first 4 songs of the year as a free thank you!

This will also be a chance for us to debut new music as it is written for other projects. And some of these songs will never be heard anywhere else! Dragon eggs to fireflies to a girl named Tempest, there’s a lot in store!
