not to taunt you too much, but there is a Culver's across the street from my house, more or less.

I'd call that taunting. :-)

We had a Culver's about two miles away back in Palatine. We have a new one only 25 miles away (at I-94 and Belleville Rd); fortunately I occasionally have excuses to go over there. It's a lot better than the former closest one, in Jackson, which I never had a valid excuse to visit.

Research has turned up a Ritter's Frozen Custard in Brighton, although Mapquest says that's just as far. Still, I should probably check it out.
