So, this took less time than I thought.
quadrivium,
billroper,
filkertom and
marcgunn all said go with CD Baby.
I dunno, it's a scary bunch.
The CDs are on the way, I have signed up for the digital distribution. Thanks for playing everyone.

Date: 2008-03-07 03:48 am (UTC)I'm on the "everything that pays" digital plan (they have different opt-in levels). Only ones that have produced anything at all so far have been iTunes, CD-Baby itself (they do a nice DRM-Free download right on your page there, and only take their 10% off those, so you get the full 90% of retail there, not 90% after the other store takes it's cut) and Napster paid listens.
They've recently added Amazon to the mix too, so I have downloads available there, w/o dealing w/ them direct.
They also have a GREAT podcast for music marketing - check it out. Also lots and lots of great advice articles.
Oh, and I have a CC swiper that they provided for live sales - then they process them and only take the 10% cut they do downloads. Cash is better of course, but I'm glad I have the option.
