ericcolemanI've been fighting with a new song for a year or more now. It's a song about Clendenin WV, where I went for my grandmother's funeral a month or so ago.
I couldn't find the structure or the point of view.
I was listening to Howard Krantz this afternoon, and found the emotional response I wanted in the song. It in no way resembles anything Howard does, but I do have to thank him for kind of paving the way.
Once I had the emotional spine of the song, the rest was easy
The Ghost Of This Old Town is more or less done. It will be the second song in my entry for the Mahtowa Folks Festival Songwriting Contest
