Yeah, there's that. Actually, it reminds me of DADDAD, which I got from some CSNY song. I prefer DADGAD, though, due to the flexibility of having a fourth in there.
This summer, I learned some Irish music for a wedding in CGDGAD. Fascinating tuning, a lot less key-centered than DADGAD, but I didn't stick with it. I played with it a bit again the other night and was reminded just how nice the chord voicings are.
