Yeah, there's that. Actually, it reminds me of DADDAD, which I got from some CSNY song. I prefer DADGAD, though, due to the flexibility of having a fourth in there.
This summer, I learned some Irish music for a wedding in CGDGAD. Fascinating tuning, a lot less key-centered than DADGAD, but I didn't stick with it. I played with it a bit again the other night and was reminded just how nice the chord voicings are.

I'm not going to try to think about what sort of chord fingerings you might get. My head hurts enough already.
