I forgot who started it, I think it was Eric, but he said something to the effect of "Now please indulge me while I have a Luke Ski moment and plug my CDs." I think every act from that point on used the phrase "Luke Ski moment" while talking about their CDs. We all tease each other, but we're also all fans of each other. Jeff from Raymond and Scum told me he was surprised when he saw one of us on stage and the rest of us in the audience singing along because apparently that kind of group support doesn't happen on the west coast.
Yeah, I said that I was going to have a Luke moment and walked back and held up one of my CDs for a moment. So I am to blame for this (I also gave R&S the idea, but everyone else did it on their own)
Years and years ago I was in the Iowa punk scene. We all shared equipment, shows, members and everything else.
One of the things that I have loved about this last year is the feeling of community, with the Dementia folks and the filk folks and the folk folks.
I realized that I have everything that was on the merchandise table (I did buy two things I didnt have, the DVD and R&S's CD) and I am hoping that that is the case with all of us.
You lot are great writers, great performers.
Thanks for letting me play along.
