WAYS OF WIND AND WATER !!!

Ok, here's the deal. We have CDs. Just got them. We don't have everything signed yet, but we're plugging away at it (we have to track everyone down and make them sign over a 100 CDs). We will get them signed and out the door with everything else as soon as possible.
Chicon starts tomorrow. Yes, Ropers will have our CDs. If you are a KS donor and want yours, you will need to track me down before Opening Ceremonies. I will only be there for that and am leaving right after. If you want it signed by everyone, I'm afraid that you'll have to wait, because, as I said, we haven't been able to get everyone to sign all the CDs yet.
I feel kind of a bit of rat for this, I wanted the Kickstarter folks to get their CDs first, but we can't not have the CDs at Worldcon. If they had shown up a week earlier … or a week later.
Also, I don't have the bonus CDs duplicated yet, so if you are owed a bonus CD, I probably won't have it (unless I can get some done today before I leave).
AHHHHHHH.

Date: 2012-08-29 03:05 pm (UTC)Second, I for one didn't KS to get the album first; I KS'ed to get the album period. Without the pre-funding, you guys wouldn't have been able to do the album at all. And not having the album available for sale at WorldCon would just be stupid.
I don't know who is giving you crap about this, but if they're reading this: Get the hell off of your high horse and remember that this is supposed to be fun. Dumbass.

Date: 2012-08-29 04:02 pm (UTC)Yes, the KS donors gave you the funding you needed to get the album made, but the people who buy it afterwards are no less supporting than the KS donors.
You are letting people know that you have the CD's and that they are being signed and you will get them out ASAP. I'm guessing that the ones at WorldCon are not going to be signed, so... big deal, the KS donors get their SIGNED CD's a little after WorldCon. The perk is still there, it's not like she isn't getting what she wanted out of this.
People (and I know I am guilty of this) can feel WAY too entitled sometimes. A good does of reality would do anyone some good.
Just my double penny...

Date: 2012-08-29 04:19 pm (UTC)Oddly enough, I am not even a Kickstarter for this CD - I'm warning what happened in a similar situation with another CD. I would rather not see Eric garner the same ill feeling as the other person did. Now, I will say that there are some marked differences:
- Eric has not been posting about his Kickstarter every day til people felt like they had to donate just to get him to stop posting about it.
- Eric will not be waiting a full month after making the CD available to the masses to get around to mailing the CDs to the Kickstarters.
However, I do stand by the fact that one of the joys and delights of being a Kickstarter supporter is getting first crack at the CDs, or at least a digital download thereof.

I do think it's nice to get perks like first crack, but I don't ever count on it.
