I am without a stitch! The doc says that my healing is going as well as it could and that picking up instruments tonight will be great therapy. The sort of things one does on a stringed instrument will serve me well.

I am going to stay away from the drums for at least another month, after which I will have some serious work to get back up to speed. I have not played drums since February. I'm goin...g to rethink a lot of my playing. I need to lessen the impact. That means getting to be more of a finesse player. I was already heading in that direction, so it's a logical step for me.

There is a lot to do.

My thanks to my many friends, your comments have helped a lot in the last couple of weeks.

And my thanks to my love and my lady, the fabulous Lizzie Crowe. You have made this so much easier. I love you.

VERY glad your recovery is going well.

I know a wonderful bodhran maker in TX who had to totally change how he played after wrist surgery. He now uses the tipper as if he was turning a doorknob as opposed to like flipping a booger off the end of the tipper. Perhaps something like that might work for you...bearing in mind that playing a regular trap set is nothing like playing a bodhran.
