Or Wii ... yeah, I broke down and bought one. The WSPA and I just went bowling. Two games. I got trounced both times, first by WSPA-3, then WSPA-2. WSPA-1 played it mostly for laughs.

So, who has a Wii, and who can recommend something fun for me to play on my own?

and i are very fond of the Lego games (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Batman) - and for sheer ridiculousness - but better played in a group is Raymonds Raving Rabbids.

anach and I just got one, so we haven't done much exploring in games yet. I've been spending time with Wii Fit Plus and Wii Sports Resort. On the less-physical side, Trivial Pursuit isn't bad (but don't tell it to include the movie questions - they bleed into *every* category), and a puzzle collection that's kind of a pain, although I suspect it'd be better with a keyboard.

Depends on what kind of games you're into. I'm enjoying the hell out of Super Mario Galaxy. For racing games it doesn't get much better than Mario Kart Wii. If you enjoyed the Mega Man series of games on the NES I highly recommend downloading Mega Man 9. It's a brand new but old school looking 8-bit style Mega Man game and it's hard as hell.

I just got New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories for Christsmas but I haven't had a chance to play them yet.

I second the endorsement for Super Mario Galaxy and Mario Kart Wii. I'll also put in a strong word for Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. And Warioware: Smooth Moves, which is very entertaining for the family.

Right now, our favorites are Beatles Rock Band, although as a real musician, it probably won't do it for you, Sports Resort, which adds several new sports including cycling, fencing, archery, etc., and Wii Fit Plus.

Tom and I have been playing My Sims Agent (hangs head in shame, but it's fun and cute). I've been enjoying Zelda, except I'm not as coordinated as I would like for that one. Tom's favourite thing is Nintendo Magazine, which rates games. New Super Mario Wii is top of the list, and we got it for the kids for Christmas. You can have up to four players, so the kids are learning to play co-operatively with each other and their Dad.
Depends what you like. Check out a copy of a game magazine before you spend a lot of money on a game that you don't like!

My recommendation is a little known game, of the puzzle kind if you like those, that is ONLY a one player game, is horribly addictive, and because no one seems to know about it, is DIRTY CHEAP. As in $15 on Amazon -

Mercury Meltdown Revolution. I was playing it one day when daddy_guido stopped by, he took the controller from me and started playing and ended up having to have his own copy.

There are other games that are fun, too - but you asked for something to play on your own - I find Mario Kart, etc more fun with the kids. This one is single player only, so no choice on that, and it is fun.

Welcome to the Wii Club! I received a couple of new ones for Christmas "A boy and his Blob" and "Boom Blox". Not sure what type of games you like Eric(RPG, Shooter, Action, sports etc) but there is somethig for everyone. I love the Lego games and have "Lego Star Wars", "Lego Batman" and "Lego Indiana Jones". As Sue mnetoined I love "My Sims Agent" and love running around finding stuff, interacting with people, solving puzzles and it is very cute. Get a copy of Nintendo Power magazine and check out the reviews and ratings on the games is my best bet for you.
