It was a Christmas theme, so I learned a couple of Christmas Songs, and something WILDLY not Christmas, mostly because there was someone in the audience who I wanted to hear it.

Christmas At Ground Zero - Weird Al
Last Ride - Toyboat
Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer - Elmo and Patsy

I was pretty bad ... my lack of solo time onstage really showed. I need to get back up there more

Believe it or not, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmb9DcterR0

I imagine it more sung by Judy Collins in her rough voice back before she recorded her first album. (I have one of the LPs from a Denver folk club back then that has a couple of her songs on it.)

One of the comments said the line in the song about marching into Selma with MLK may have been written with J.B. in mind - she did that, y'know. And I really love a lot of her records, especially the first 5 albums - but I think for that song, her performance is just not right. It's like Beverly Sills singing greatest hits of the Talking Heads.

The song, to me, is the greatest xmas song ever, although Christmas in Prison by John Prine is another of my favorites.
