[livejournal.com profile] imwalrus just sent me email with a question ... I thought I would toss it out here (and FB) for folks to play with

What is your favorite non-traditional Christmas song?

Mine is easy, Christmas At Ground Zero - Weird Al Yankovic.

There is a John Lennon Christmas song that may be just called, "So This is Christmas." I think it entered the mainstream, though, however inadvertently, when some female vocalist (? Carly Simon?) included it on a Christmas album. I will say, though, that I also like Christmas at Ground Zero.

I heard that every year on the radio, growing up. (over 40). I guess I never realized it *wasn't* mainstream.

"Red Christmas." They played it on Dr. D, years ago, but I haven't heard the good Doc in ages.

Nope, try Elmo & Patsy. The flip side of the 45 had the song, "Percy, the Puny Poinsetta".
