What is your favorite big monster movie?

Mine is easy, the original King Kong. Some of the acting is questionable (Kong, an animated character, may be a better actor than Bruce Cabot) but the story holds up, and there has never been a sexier female lead in a monster movie than Fay Wray.

Yep. I have lots of love for several of the Godzilla films, but... yep.

Is it wrong to answer Monsters, Inc.? Or Rocky Horror Picture Show?

My issue is I am not a fan of any of the "big monster movies". Horror in general is not my cup of tea. Give me a good comedy, certain sci-fi then I am fine.

Forbidden Planet. The id monster scared the bleep out of me when I was a kid. But it's a great movie that still holds up extremely well.

Gotta go with Godzilla here. The roar alone is reason enough...

there has never been a sexier female lead in a monster movie than Fay Wray.

Jessica Lange did a damn fine job of being a sexy (sexier?) female lead in the horrendous remake.

But to answer the posted question...King Kong (the original, which I remember first watching in the basement of my grandparents' house in Cleveland.

I'm a big fan of all Japanese kaiju movies, and have pretty much all of them in some form or another. But I have to admit the 'big monster' movies I've rewatched more than any others in the last decade have to be Deep Rising, Deepstar Six, and Leviathan.

While I loved the original King Kong, I must admit that Peter Jackson's remake of the same wowed the socks off of me, and I like it better!

God, bring me back to my Creature Feature Double Feature days of Saturday afternoon movies when I was growing up. Godzilla and Gamera have a place in my heart (Godzilla vs the Smog Monster was always a "stop what you are doing and watch" movie when I found it). Also, there is Voyage Into Space, which I fould out over two decades later was a compulation of fights from the TV series Johnny Socko And His Giant Robot (most of the first episode, most of the last episode, and various fights from middle episodes).

Cloverfield.

I LOVE in the extras when they refer to the monster as "Clover." It reminds me of Flower from Bambi.

Noooo question...my heart belongs to:

Bambi meets Godzilla.

Seriously, though, I do still have a soft spot for King Kong vs. Godzilla.

I guess I'd say "Tremors".

I think my favorite line, in ANY movie, is when Kevin Bacon has asked the grad student yet another question to which no one can possibly know the answer, and she says, "Why do you keep asking ME these things?"

<"educated" is not equal to "omniscient">

Always been a fan of "Them" - the giant ant movie. But have never been able to spot Van Morrison.
