Not only that, but Moore tends to have more solid plotting, and subtler characterization. Actually, the difference in sheer name between Sandman and Watchmen sums them up nicely for me: Gaiman is exquisite at painting dreams and fantasies, while Moore's stories are finely-constructed machines that do exactly what they need to do when they need to do it.

They're really very different, if you ask me.
