They are good, aren't they? I haven't seen them perform before (live or on video), but I have a couple Värttinä CDs. Their US distributor is NorthSide (http://www.noside.com/) if you'd like to hear more.

Yep, they are. IIRC, the Nordic Roots 2 and 3 compilations have a Värttinä song each.
The first Nordic Roots compilation was also how I first encountered the various NorthSide artists, as well. In my case, it was Hedningarna that I first had to hear more of, but now I also have some Väsen CDs, and some Wimme, and Bäsk, and Sorten Muld, and... Pretty much everyone published by NorthSide is good.
