Aren't they 69 years too late, since Batman the hero has existed since 1939?

AH, just did some research. The city of Batman, Turkey was established in 1955. 16 years after the hero Batman was created.

So Dc and Warner should be suing the city.

The oil refinery was established in 1955, the town has been there a lot longer.
