Personally I do wear pants (actually shorts much moreso in this climate) HOWEVER, "trousers" figure greatly in a lot of my English-based favorite humor...the whole Rutles "errrrr, it was....the trousers" thing, and of COURSE, the Bonzo Dog Band's "TROUSER PRESS" (which begat the music mag of the same name)!!!!!!!!!!

My tag line on LJ is "The very best in deep fried pants". "The very best in deep fried trousers" just doesn't have the same impact.
