I talk about this every year, and so far only two people I know have ever showed up.

THE BEST DAY OF MUSIC ... I repeat ... THE BEST DAY OF MUSIC that I am at every year is in Mahtowa MN

Once again I am in the songwriting contest. I have no idea what I am going to do, since I haven't written much of anything new in the last year, but I will come up with something.

But that aside, there is free camping, good food, amazing music, and SO MUCH FUN !!!

So come this year. And if you do make sure you get there Friday night to see the amazing Charlie Parr

Take I-35 about a 100 miles north of the Twin Cities, get off on the Mahtowa Exit. Go to Highway 61, take a left, look for the Rob's Tavern on the left.

It's opposite the Fringe Festival, so I'm not going to make the trip. Perhaps you can hit a few shows here in Mpls on the way.

I'd love to go someday. Only two things prevent me - well except for my wife who isn't technically a 'thing' ...

1. It's really far away

2. Camping. I swore after getting out of the service, I'd never camp again. Two and 1\2 years of camping for a living was enough. And I'm certainly not staying at the Pine City Motel ...

The Pine City Motel is an hour south ... in, oddly enough, Pine City. There are MUCH nicer places to stay in and around Mahtowa ... really.
