Yeah, another 7 hour drive.

Not bad actually. WSPA-3 and I are here in scenic Branson. Actually it is kinda pretty here, except for all the billboards advertising stuff that makes Hee Haw look like George Bernard Shaw.

My weekend:

Saturday: Pack clothes into suitcase for con. Poly-bag unwrapped T-shirts. Load and run dishwasher. Go to big BBQ-scented street fair. Test-drive SUV. Discover latent soccer-mom tendancies. Get scared of soccer-mom tendancies and swear off SUVs. Avoid sunburn and heat exhaustion (although just barely on the latter). Get home, unload dishwasher. Collapse in a heap at 8 pm due to walking way more than I'm used to, and probably not eating enough.

Sunday: Fix smoke detector that wouldn't stop F#$%ing beeping. Begin to pack up shirts in boxes for Origins (x9). Realise I don't have enough boxes. Curse and swear about lack of cardboard. Reduce quantities to fit into available boxes. Load boxes onto dolly. Drop box on my foot. Curse and swear about my foot. Attempt to fit boxes into car. Curse and swear and sweat a lot. Discover the back seats fold down flat. Wish I'd known that 5 cons ago. Load 4 large boxes, and 3 small boxes. Hear thunder, decide to postpone final 2 "load the car" trips until tomorrow. Buy more coffee at the little store in my apartment building.

Busy but good...friends' wedding was fun. :) I was the guestbook goofball. I guess they think I'll talk to anyone. LOL! I had a good time, though. Today has been mostly just puttering. Parental units will be arriving on Wednesday.

Wave in the general direction of Silver Dollar City (wherever that is from where you are); that was someplace we went when I was a kid visiting Dad's family in Missouri.

My land is about an hour or so east of Springfield on the US hwy there (60 I believe... US 65 down, take big east turn at US 60), and yeah, it's funny all the billboards. And it gets so much worse between Springfield and Branson. Glad you made it safely.

You ever eat at the "home of the throwed rolls"? I always have wondered if they really do chuck the rolls at you, but when Steve and I went to eat there the parking lot was full and busses were pulling in ... so we left and ate at an awesome BBQ place there in Ozark not far from the Super 8.
