Huh ???

As I have said in the past, I work in the print shop for a large international company. One of the things we do are the business cards.

We just got a proof back saying

"Looks good
Please Create
Thank You"

This gives me an image of myself on a large platform, with a business card on it and me shrieking to the wind "IT'S ALIVE, ALIVE !!!"

They always pull out the damned piece of paper and a pencil sticking through it analogy. I hate when they do that!

I'm guessing that the pencil-passing-through analogy is probably copped from Abbott's "Flatland". I've often thought that using analogies in spiritual discussion runs the risk of "explaining" what are probably metaphors-for-the-ineffable by shifting to other (usually more mundane) metaphors. Much seems to depend on how far we pursue plausible analogies into the country of mystery -- as with this instance, but I'm going to stop there. ;-)
