I'm home ... it was a lovely drive. I went straight west from exapno's house (thanks for the floor space) and drove across highway 20. The area in NW Illinois is lovely, you drive on a ridge much of the time with valleys on either side. MUCH better than I80.

musicmutt's concert last night was brilliant, the best I have ever seen him do.

Toyboat practice went well, we went through the entire set with few glitches, and then went back and worked on a few problem songs. The Demicon show should be very good.

I thoroughly agree with you regarding hwy 20.

Youse guys are gonna be playing at Duckon, right? I have a devious notion I would like to communicate outside of this particular medium (like maybe via e-mail or some such).

You're right- it IS way prettier....but for me pretty usually loses when competing with fast. :)

It added about 20 minutes to my drive ... and what can I say, I prefer slower ...

Not only is 20 a very pretty drive, but it makes the drive for us to the north end of Chicago about a 4 to 5 hour drive (5 hours last time, with stops with the kids for various things that had us off the road for an hour or so, total).

This is much better than the 7 hours or so it took us the last time we took I-80, etc.

Once we hit Dubuque, we take 151 straight down to Marion (that part is about 60 to 90 minutes).

I thought about coming down 151 to see you folks, but as hard as I crashed out when I got home, it was a good idea that I didn't. Are you coming to Demicon?

With the current budget, and the hours Daniel is working, I suspect the only cons we're going to get to the rest of this year are Duckon and OVFF (tho' we may daytrip to ICON) ::sigh::

I love taking 20 on the way home from Madison I think we figured it changes our time by like 15 minutes... and when I take the motorcycle I hate dealing with traffic on 80.
