I loved Mister Rogers as a kid, even more than Sesame Street. I should go back and watch some (without the unnecessary censorship, funny as it is) for old times' sake. I wonder if it holds up.
I've seen it in the last few years and yeah, it does.
Fred Rogers was one of the first folks to really understand TV as a means of direct communication. He talked to his audience, rather than at them or around them. A pretty amazing guy.
