Headed off yesterday for Toyboat practice, and decided to head back right after.

So here I am ... only 600+ miles in two days ... that's not bad is it ???

Fun! My Boston daughter (I'm her Boston Mom...) came out for dinner, puzzling, hot tub and sleep over last night. Talis and I drove her back to campus in Cambridge mid-day, then went shopping at a place called The Garment District, then tonight went to the home schooling coop coffee house...

And I bought a book!

And I haven't done a bit of the cleaning or "creative" stuff I thought I would, but that's what today's for...

Luscious would be the word for my weekend so far. Lots of cuddles with a very cute boy, a cute kitten to play with and laugh at, a beautiful walk in the woods by a river where we saw a heron and stood on a bridge for a long time hypnotized by the flowing water, a delicious dinner cooked by me, several episodes of Torchwood (for the first time-yum!), um and more 'cuddling':) And today we're going to the zoo!

Last night I saw River Folk, got hit on and carded. When I got home we had company and I sat up late with good friends and a bottle of wine. This morning I am a little hung over but not bad and I am going to mud walls later. Messy, creative fun.
My cold is much better and I like Midwest Brewing.

Our daughter, her husband, and little girl arrived at a quarter to eleven. We welcomed them to their new home in Champaign.

We'll unpack the truck today. After that, preparations for kittencon. Our two oldest grandchildren finished raking the yard on Friday. The ManCave is a mess, Sean and I will have to deal.

I may have a new kids' story featuring Violet ready to write--Violet and the Sky Painters. Now that I know what I'm doing, the rewrite of the book is proceeding apace during the week. I reread King's On Writing this weekend to encourage myself.

I don't have it on the schedule yet (it'll go on when Cheron gets a few minutes) but I'll be doing a book-excerpt reading at 8 on the Friday of kittencon--stuff that no one's heard before at Cons.

my weekend's been really very good, despite not getting to spend any of it with you. we should fix that sometime.

uhm...i'm not sure when, tho. on account of i'm probably going to be feeling rather poor when i start making car payments.
