ericcoleman | That end of the year thing

Where you take your first post (in this case on LJ, since I have just recently started here on DW and FB doesn't make this sort of thing easy) and the first line or so from it.

It's been a wonderful year, it's been a terrible year. Lizzie and I fall more in love all the time. The music we're making continues to amaze me.

On the other hand, I had the surgery, lost my ability to play the drums and had to leave Toyboat. That is something that is going to hurt for a long time.

There have been some friendships that have fallen by the wayside, some of it my fault, some of it mutual.

Anyway, here is the year that was, the condensed version.

A year.
About three or so years ago I met this lovely young woman, she was walking with Alyse and Evan at a con. My first thought was "wow, she is really cute ... oh well". Yeah, I'm like that.

The week ...
It hit me Wednesday and it hit hard. I've been afraid of this for longer than I wanted anyone to know. My hands had been a problem for a couple years (as anyone who ever saw me warm up for a show can attest to) and the trigger thumb really sent it over the edge.

The Spidercapo
I've been messing with some ideas on how to cut down on instruments when we go traveling. Saturday I played with gundo's Spidercapo for a few moments and it seems to be perfect. Mine arrived today and yeah, amazing stuff.
