I liked it ... yeah there are some glaring problems, and some glaring cliches ... but over all I thought it was very very good ... I do have one question that I will reserve for comments ... expect spoilers (I warn people, unlike some other folks)

Date: 2008-01-29 01:54 pm (UTC)I really wanted to like this movie. I just hated the yuppie kids with superpowers we had to follow around with their indestructible camera.
I don't care: I really like "Miracle Mile". I think people don't like it because it's a downer and it's something they don't want to think about. The ending was solid. Soundtrack was cool, if I remember, from Tangerine Dream. But then again, when I saw it, I was going through the synthesizer phase of music loving in my life...

Date: 2008-01-29 04:47 am (UTC)1. The helicopters were flying wrong for in an in city situation. They would have gone almost straight up as quickly as possible because of wind shear.
2. They're going to evac healthy people first? The dead guy's uninjured girlfriend gets the first chopper out, and the chick who had been impaled has to wait? I don't think so!
3. Massive violations of a the cube square law. If it really was a deep sea creature as the movie implied, Clover should have had trouble just walking around out of the water, to say nothing of being able to jump high enough to swipe that helo out of the sky.
4. And speaking of that, the chopper wasn't firing at Clover, there were plenty of people on the ground doing that. Why would it waste energy going after something not bothering it when there was almost certainly a crapload of stuff surrounding it trying to blow it into its constituent molecules?

Just sayin.
