ericcolemanThe Ames Progressive started their open mike last night. They have a nice space and a great attitude so it was a real good time. There were probably 20 people there, but I have a feeling that it will grow as the weeks go along. I started out the evening with a short set.

I tried some patter during Bang My Bald Spot, but the audience wasn't going to put up with digressions, so it was a pretty straight up musical set. I really need to practice more with the acoustic, I played well but I could have played much better.
A nice time was had. Since it started earlier I was able to stay a little longer to see the folks after me. There was a guy doing some Townes Van Zandt songs who was very good and very funny and this guy Micheal, who does these wonderfully long and literate story songs, he needs to record a CD.
Now off to work, the movie quiz will be up in about an hour.
