Depends on the rules of the game. Technically, by splicing band names together, yes. But I couldn't resist formatting the second name the same as the first. Perhaps more euphonic is

Portmanteau movies

Date: 2007-09-28 09:22 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] barondave.livejournal.com
Apropos of almost nothing, when Shockwave did this sort of thing for movie, we called them Portmanteau Movies (after Lewis Carroll):

From "Period Pieces", Minicon 27, 1992:

The Unbearable Lightness of Being Earnest,
License To Kill A Mockingbird,
The Twelve Angry Chairs,
Honey, I Shrunk the Bismark,
Seven Amadeus in May,
and the Australian bondage film, Tie Me Up, Tie Me Kangaroo Down.

Okay, I cheated a bit. Picky picky picky.

oooh.., these i like, I started a thread of this style on my LJ before seeing this post. we've been butchering movie titles on alt.callahans and #callahans irc since around 96 IIRC

Thanks. Let me know about threads. Somewhere in my text files are huge lists of Right Brained Theater conceptually juxtaposed double features, portmanteau movies/books and other random things only some of which made it to a Shockwave performance. I was bored at work a lot in the 80s.

So good.

I've never quite been able to figure out what the plot should be.

I suppose, in part, because I only sat and listened in discussions of "Portrait of a Lady" and never read most of it for class.

Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man was, on the other hand, hilarious. I love when he "committed adultery".
