Here are the rules.

Answer only one quote.

If you answer more than one I will delete your reply. If there are quotes still not answered the next day I will open it up to any and all guesses.

Most weeks there is a theme. If there is not a theme I will tell you. The theme is open to guess even if you have guessed a quote. (like I haven't given you enough hints this week)

The theme has been guessed (by two people even, but one got if first), Her most wonderful[livejournal.com profile] bammba_m-ness says that the theme is Pirate Movies, and of course it is, in honor of Talk Like A Pirate Day, which is on Wednesday.

Don't use a search engine (like this can be enforced). If you don't know, you don't know. Maybe next week you will.

You must either be signed into LJ, or say who you are (in case you are a friend of mine who is not on LJ). All anonymous answers will be deleted (hey, I'm obsessive, I want to know who guesses these)

And Next week will be a close relation theme-wise -
01 Mabel, also without a "k." God, we have so much in common. Arrr matey, [livejournal.com profile] meglimir would be telling us that this is from The Pirate Movie
02 Oh, for ten toes! Arrr matey, [livejournal.com profile] kylakae would be telling us that this is from Treasure Island
03 I'm in disguise, you stupid tart! Arrr matey, [livejournal.com profile] selenesue would be telling us that this is from Yellowbeard
04 Do? We'll board a ship that's not sinking! Arrr matey, [livejournal.com profile] the2wittybird would be telling us that this is from Captain Blood, simply the greatest Pirate Movie of all time
05 There's no such thing as fair in a fight to the death! Arrr matey, [livejournal.com profile] greenmansgrove would be telling us that this is from Swashbuckler
06 Thou hast a generous choice: the gallows, or the sea. Arrr matey, [livejournal.com profile] selenesue would be telling us that this is from The Crimson Pirate
07 You requested the customary lashing. Arrr matey, [livejournal.com profile] exapno would be telling us that this is from Against All Flags
08 I assure you ma'am, they're normal in every respect. Arrr matey, [livejournal.com profile] wyngarde would be telling us that this is from Cutthroat Island
09 I'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request. Arrr matey, [livejournal.com profile] bammba_m would be telling us that this is from Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
10 I'm an astronomer, not a doctor! I mean, I am a doctor, but I'm not that kind of doctor. I have a doctorate, it's not the same thing. You can't help people with a doctorate. You just sit there and you're useless! Arrr matey, [livejournal.com profile] fredhuggins would be telling us that this is from Treasure Planet
11 I always sample a bottle of wine before I buy it. Let's have a sip, see if you're worth taking along. Arrr matey, [livejournal.com profile] singlemaltsilk would be telling us that this is from The Black Swan, you can call me Jamie Boy anytime you like.
12 I'll chop off his liver! Say, that might be pretty good, chopped liver. Arrr matey, [livejournal.com profile] shsilver would be telling us that this is from The Princess And The Pirate
13 I hope no one minds but I have no intention of facing this sober. Arrr matey, [livejournal.com profile] controuble would be telling us that this is from Ice Pirates, and the ladies be kicking yer ass gentlemen, time to catch up
14 Are you wise enough to feel privileged by what you see here? You and I are the only living men to see what you lies before you now. Arrr matey, [livejournal.com profile] selenesue would be telling us that this is from The Island

Next weeks quiz will be a close relation ...

#3 is from YELLOWBEARD, my guilty secret favorite pirate comedy. "Last Work" of Marty Feldman as well as Graham Chapman, if memory serves. Also a right crackup, I wish Graham and Madelaine Kahn had done more work together.

Stagger, stagger, crawl crawl crawl...

Dusting off my brain and taking a guess of the plank, but would number 8 be from the under-appreciated movie, "Cutthroat Island"?

Dude. Rex Smith and Kevin Kline in that movie (or in the filmed version of their stage presentation) are the sexiest things EVER. EVER EVER EVER. I say they are even sexier pirates than Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom and I don't care what anyone else says. :P Linda Rondstat is not too great, but yeah. Dude. SRSLY

Eh, you do NOT even know how much a sucker I am for a super high-energy on-stage performance. (Though given my ex, you oughta know.) It's all within the song "With Cat Like Tread" when the two of them look like they're going to bite each other's fuckin heads off. The film of the Broadway show was even better than the movie in this regard... Omfg. Nothing Depp or Bloom deliver was even close.

Crap on a cracker. Wasn't Dr. Peter Blood given a choice like that?

Hmmm. The one I don't see above, and have not seen myself in too many years to recall, is THE CRIMSON PIRATE. Is that #6 then? Just a wild ass guess.
