Be sure to get the Vertigo edition with the Vess illustrations, if you can. I consider the "plain novel" edition to be inferior, even though (AFAIK) it has the same text.

Absolutely. I think it may be the best movie I have seen all year.

i think the book is just as delightful and enchanting as the movie. however, there are a LOT of things changed from book to screen. still a wonderful and fanciful fairytale love story.
