I decided to make a tough one this week, although I do think that there are at least three of my friends who could run the whole quiz.

This week has a double theme. Extra points to whoever gets both.

Now everyone sing along.

Answer only one quote.
If you answer more than one I will delete your reply. If there are quotes still not answered the next day I will open it up to any and all guesses.

Most weeks there is a theme. If there is not a theme I will tell you. The theme is open to guess even if you have guessed a quote.

[livejournal.com profile] ann_totusek has guessed one of the two themes. These quotes are from Marx Brothers movies.

[livejournal.com profile] selenesue has guessed the second theme, which is that none of these lines were spoken by a Marx Brother

Don't use a search engine (like this can be enforced). If you don't know, you don't know. Maybe next week you will.

You must either be signed into LJ, or say who you are (in case you are a friend of mine who is not on LJ). All anonymous answers will be deleted (hey, I'm obsessive, I want to know who guesses these)

01 You must leave my room. We must have regard for certain conventions. [livejournal.com profile] fredhuggins, in a very polite voice, informs us that this is from Coconuts
02 Say, how did you get to be an Italian? [livejournal.com profile] jrittenhouse, in a very polite voice, informs us that this is from Animal Crackers
03 Stockholders, huh? Well, you look like a couple of stowaways to me. [livejournal.com profile] controuble, in a very polite voice, informs us that this is from Monkey Business
04 Oh, Professor, you're full of whimsy. [livejournal.com profile] mike46, in a very polite voice, informs us that this is from Horse Feathers
05 Notables from every country are gathered here in your honor. This is a gala day for you. [livejournal.com profile] selenesue, in a very polite voice, informs us that this is from Duck Soup
06 Never in my life have I received such treatment. They threw an apple at me. [livejournal.com profile] 1phish2phish, in a very polite voice, informs us that this is from A Night At The Opera
07 The doctor seems reluctant to discuss his medical experiences. [livejournal.com profile] barondave, in a very polite voice, informs us that this is from A Day At The Races
08 I'll give you the best performance you ever saw in a hotel bedroom! [livejournal.com profile] wyngarde, in a very polite voice, informs us that this is from Room Service
09 But it's so easy. The bottom of your shoe creates a suction that holds you up in the ceiling. [livejournal.com profile] beamjockey, in a very polite voice, informs us that this is from At The Circus
10 One Mint Julep coming up. [livejournal.com profile] controuble, in a very polite voice, informs us that this is from Go West
11 Why, it's the Hastings brothers, the men who are going to buy the store. [livejournal.com profile] jcw_da_dmg, in a very polite voice, informs us that this is from The Big Store

I know one of the themes- Marx brothers! I don't know what movies any of the quotes are from, but I have clear memories of some of the lines themselves. I was just so young when I saw them I don't remember which quote goes with what movie.

4 - A Night at the Opera, I believe. Though I seem to have a rather bad track record. ;-)

I never heard of this movie. When did it come out? Was it one of the real early ones or one of the last ones?

Taking a guess: #8 "Room Service"?

This week's is tough in the sense that it's trying to remeber which film it came from. I remeber most of these, but as for which is which...

"Whatever it is, I'm against it!"

02: Say, how did you get to be Mr. Rittenhouse?
Jim: My mother was frightened by ANIMAL CRACKERS in the womb.
Groucho: Well, that's all right for your mother, but it doesn't explain about you.
Jim: Not much does; I was born that way.

#5 is from Duck Soup.

I think that none of the quotes are actually from a Marx Brother, but spoken by other characters.

Re second theme: Ah, no wonder none of these lines are funny. And now that I don't hear them in a Marx Brothers voice, I'll assay:

So. By the time I get to this post, all but one are already done. And I don't know the last one.

Sigh.
