ISU did two welcome back the students concerts, that were free to students, on move in weekend.

the first year it was students only, and they had the Village People, cant have been more than 200-300 people there.

the second year they got Wierd Al, and let the students in free with ID an hour before the show, then half an hour before the show, it was open seating and anybody with 5.00 got in. had not quite 7,000 people show up. this was during his Alapalooza tour right after he did Jurrasic Park.

he got 2 standing ovations during jurrasic park, they were showing the vidoe on the back screen. once when the t-rex ate the lawyer, and a second when he ate the purple dinosaur

raanve has seen him a couple of times, and I was both surprised and amused when she posted about catching a semi-obscure cultural reference. (Mind you, she was months old when it was first broadcast -- that's what I call an excellent memory.)
