So, there is about a 100 bucks of damage, that will take almost 600 bucks to fix.

I love the car industry.

And yes his insurance is paying for it.

If it be any consolation, I bought my first new car in 1977--Honda Accord. Three months (to the day) after I bought it, I got side-swiped in the left rear quarter panel. She cried, I got suckered, she never paid for it.

A few years later, I had a friend fix the damage (he was thinking about opening a body repair shop, and I was his experiment). He did a good job, I paid for it, and finally got it home (had to adjust the carburator on the fly in Kansas to make it back).

Three months (to the day) I got back with it, I got side-swiped (yes, the left rear quarter panel).

My advice? You get a new car, immediately grab a sledge hammer and whollop it somewhere. At least that way, you can pick your own spot...
