Here are the rules.

Answer only one quote.
If you answer more than one I will delete your reply. If there are quotes still not answered the next day I will open it up to any and all guesses.

Most weeks there is a theme. If there is not a theme I will tell you. The theme is open to guess even if you have guessed a quote.

Don't use a search engine (like this can be enforced). If you don't know, you don't know. Maybe next week you will.

And a new rule. You must either be signed into LJ, or say who you are (in case you are a friend of mine who is not on LJ). All anonymous answers will be deleted (hey, I'm obsessive, I want to know who guesses these)

[livejournal.com profile] wyngarde just guessed the theme - Ray Harryhausen films

01 But, for the moment, there is sufficient cowardice, sloth and mendacity down there on Earth to last forever. [livejournal.com profile] selenesue gets this one - Clash Of The Titans
02 Extraordinary, a normal baboon wouldn't have reconised its reflection and attacked it thinking it was another baboon [livejournal.com profile] jrittenhouse gets this one - Sinbad And The Eye Of The Tiger
03 I've heard of gold going to a man's head, but this! [livejournal.com profile] shsilver gets this one - The Golden Voyage Of Sinbad
04 Don't you see...we must follow the gypsy trail to the forbidden valley because where there is one Eohippus there must be others. [livejournal.com profile] jrittenhouse gets this one - Valley Of The Gwangi
05 "...", never mind, no one said anything in this one, but bet someone can still work out what it is by the theme. And regardless of my cluelessness, [livejournal.com profile] mike46 gets this one - One Million Years BC
06 He did have such a terrible cold. [livejournal.com profile] mike46 gets this one - First Men In The Moon
07 The gods are best served by those who need their help the least. First blood goes to [livejournal.com profile] wyngarde - Jason And The Argonauts
08 It's Latin. "Mihi libertas necessest." [livejournal.com profile] jrittenhouse gets this one - Mysterious Island
09 Caught me unprepared. I've been cooking over a hot creature all day. [livejournal.com profile] jrittenhouse gets this one - 20 Million Miles To Earth
10 Say, doctor, you were right about this new breed of women! [livejournal.com profile] mike46 gets this one - It Came From Beneath The Sea

#1 is Clash of the Titans. Is it cheating if I worked on it? Which I only sort of did, I was an intern in the publicity office, back in my last year of film school. Good times.

Oh make no mistake, it was real work. 10 hours of full-on office work a week, during a time when my class schedule put my hours at a premium. But the good part was that my bachelorette pad was across the street from the old MGM studio in Culver City so the commute was just a little walk. And I got to go inside this Ancient Sacred Site at long last. Yes, I ate of the sacred Chicken Noodle Soup, which Sam Goldwyn ordered to be served every day in the commissary from then on -- and "then" was the late 30's when the cook tried to tell him sorry, no chicken soup today. I can't find this on line anywhere but that's what the older secretary told me.

I am diverging from the topic at hand. Would it help to mention that she used to work for George Pal?

okay, so i looked Harryhausen up on imdb, and while i'm not entirely sure i know what movie this may be, i am sure that it would be cheating to guess anymore (and i'm okay with that).

and you're right, in caveman they do talk. sort of. but it's the only movie i know that doesn't really have any words. or many words, i guess.

very tricky.

I'm gonna throw out a guess for #5 --- is it (The?)Animal World. I remember something about a Harryhausen movie called that, but I think it had narration in it ...
