New toys and wondering...
May. 10th, 2007 04:09 pmI have some new toys for my studio. They include a Pod XT and a couple of electric guitars. I'm thinking about going electric for the Demicon show. I have been playing with some sounds and I'm just wondering what the reaction might be. So ... what do you think ???

if I was thinking like a true music geek, I would have said "Electric ??? Judas !!!, but I wasn't, my apologies

Date: 2007-05-10 09:47 pm (UTC)I love the XT ... I use about 5 of the sounds though, and am slowly saving my own presets after owning it for months now. Currently my favorite is a Roland JC sound with extra chorus, some compression and a very cool very rubbery sounding analog delay. I think I will use that on Hides at Demicon
I bought a Squier Tele and an Epi SG, which is all I need really. If I had bought the Tele first I probably would have never bought the SG.

Date: 2007-05-10 09:57 pm (UTC)The Line 6 amps, at least the Spider series, really aren't amplifiers in the truest sense of the word. My tech guy says that they're just really loud computers. I have the little 15W Spider II that I can just throw in the car so when I go back to OH I have something to play through, and the 75W Spider III with all the classic song presets. I've gotta admit that it makes me lazy, but since I'm not going for critical acclaim ot making a living with music, who cares, y'know? If I want Gilmour tone and all I have to do is press a button a few times, then a few more presses to get to Page or Brian May, then that works for me.
