I very nearly cleared the room. Wow ... that was a first. Yeah you lose some of the audience sometimes, but 70% or so ...

The set list looks good to me. Were you booked at the wrong venue? Were they expecting a serious song show from you instead of a comedy show?

WTF? Was this at a SF con or a separate concert gig? if the former, what was booked opposite you? Maybe a guest of honor speech or a party with free margueritas or some attractive nuisance like that?

I'm disturbed by that, and I don't understand it. The set list looks great to me. I wish I'd been there to shake some people. :-(

Grrrrr...all I can say is there are lots of stupid people in the world and apparently you got stuck with more than your share. Grrrrr.... I might take back what I said about thinking about going to that event. Grrrrrrrrr

It's a little pagan festival ... I knocked them out last year ... and those that stayed seemed to dig it ... but ... just weird

A lot of the disappearing audience seems to have been due to the fact that there was a smoking area right outside the room that turned into a drinking party while the set was going on. Folks went out for a quick smoke and ended up hanging around and drinking instead of coming back in.

Found your livejournal (to state the extremely obvious!) I am sorry you did not have a good show-- you know it just happens like that sometimes. It sounds so cliche to say "don't take it personally", but I suppose cliches became cliches for a reason, hm? Someone commented that there was an unofficial smokers/drinkers listening lounge just outside the door, and I am sure that was a contributing factor. I know that lots of folks came and went during my show, too-- I always frown inside when that happens (but try not to let it show)! Yet another skirmish in the eternal struggle between the enchantment of music and the seductive powers of beer.

I'll try to post to you here during the day so I won't torture you with MySpace comments at work *grin* Thanks also for the kind words about my show on Friday-- I am very glad you enjoyed it!
