Although I thought Casino Royale was a great Bond flick, after what Joel Schumacher did to the Batman franchise it was in greater need of a reboot and Batman Begins delivered the goods.
I thought that Casino Royale was the best Bond film since Connery, and up to the standards of the lesser films he did (I don't count Never Say Never)
But ... every Batman movie has been crap as far as I am concerned ... except Batman Begins ... which is in my top 5 superhero films ever ... it just gets everything right
I liked Casino Royale but it's definately not up there in terms of Bond films for me.
However Batman Begins though is probably the best Batman movie in my opinion. I think Christian Bale pulls off both Bruce Wayne and Batman very well. It was just all around a great movie to me.
I think that Casino Royale is as good as the lesser Connery stuff, and far better than anything since, but I also think that every Batman movie until this one was absolute crap.
I agree that Batman Begins is probably the best Batman movie. However, the Batman tradition includes the movie with Adam West as Batman; the Bond films never sank quite that low.
I haven't seen Casino Royale, but I can say that I was not nearly as impressed with Batman Begins as many other people were. It didn't suck or anything, I just don't understand what all the fuss was about.
I have not seen Casino Royale yet, so I had to vote the "only seen one of them" option. I thought Batman Begins was a very good movie, and look forwards to any sequals they make from it. Batman does not have to be crazy/obsessive or campy to be good! It is about time Hollywood learned that lesson.
Bond really didn't need a reboot, they just needed to make a good one. Burton killed Batman from the start. Always remeber, Burton and Peters WANTED and HIRED Schumacer to make the films. He followed THEIR blueprints to the film. Schumacer attempted to put plots into the films. But WB took them out for marketing reasons.
I hate all four of those monstosities. I hate Tim Burton with a passion. He's a talentless director. I am so happy that 'Batman Begins' exists. It shows what you can do with a comic book movie. The next one looks even better so far.
