99 bottles of beer on the wall
99 bottles of beer
you take one down
pass it around
98 bottles of beer on the wall

98 bottles of beer on the wall
98 bottles of beer
you take one down
pass it around
97 bottles of beer on the wall

It could be worse!

Aleph-null bottles of beer on the wall
Aleph-null bottles of beer
Take one down, pass it around,
Aleph-null bottles of beer on the wall.

-- alternate version --

Aleph-one bottles of beer on the wall,
Aleph-one bottles of beer,
Take infinity down, pass 'em around,
Aleph one bottles of beer on the wall.

It's a world of laughter
A world of tears
It's a world of hopes
And a world of fears
There's so much that we share
That it's time we're aware
It's a small world after all

There is just one moon
And one golden sun
And a smile means
Friendship to every one
Though the mountains divide
And the oceans are wide
It's a small world after all

It's a small world after
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small, small world

(wash, rinse, repeat)

Now, can you do it in Yodel?

(I've been looking for the 45 I got in 1964... the Disney Retrospective has something like it, but I don't think it's the same.)

I'm now obliged to point out that you can intermingle Small Small World and the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang theme, and truly drive all around you nuts...

Bang bang chitty chitty bang bang
it's a small world after all...

Why do birds suddenly appear
Every time you are near?
Just like me
They long to be
Close to you...

After the turn of the century
In the clear blue skies over Germany
Came a roar and a thunder men had never heard
Like the scream and the sound of a big war bird

Up in the sky, a man in a plane
Baron von Richthofen was his name
Eighty men tried, and eighty men died
Now they're buried together on the countryside

In the nick of time, a hero arose
A funny-looking dog with a big black nose
He flew into the sky to seek revenge
But the Baron shot him down - "Curses, foiled again!"

Ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty or more
The Bloody Red Baron was rollin' up the score
Eighty men died tryin' to end that spree
of the Bloody Red Baron of Germany

Now, Snoopy had sworn that he'd get that man
So he asked the Great Pumpkin for a new battle plan
He challenged the German to a real dogfight
While the Baron was laughing, he got him in his sight

That Bloody Red Baron was in a fix
He'd tried everything, but he'd run out of tricks
Snoopy fired once, and he fired twice
And that Bloody Red Baron went spinning out of sight

Ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty or more
The Bloody Red Baron was rollin' up the score
Eighty men died tryin' to end that spree
of the Bloody Red Baron of Germany

Ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty or more
The Bloody Red Baron was rollin' up the score
Eighty men died tryin' to end that spree
of the Bloody Red Baron of Germany

Ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty or more

ROTFLMAO

Now may be a bad time to say I actually LIKE that song!

LOL

I'm Henry the Eighth I am
Henry the Eighth I am I am
I got married to the widow next door
She's been married seven times before
And every one was a Henry (HENRY!)
She wouldn't have a Willie or a Sam.
I'm her eighth old man named Henry...
Henry the Eighth I am.

HA

OH LORDY I'm easily amused today...

Easily the most successful mix CDs I've made have been for kids. I made one set of four (which became five) for my 20 month and 3 year old nieces. Friends who run a Children's Day Care Center got copies, and they say they're incredibly popular with the kids. Apparently, one of the younger ones, around 4, really really REALLY likes Snoopy Vs. the Red Baron and has almost worn out the groove in the CD...

I crunched those CDs down to one mix, The Not-So-Inner Child which I bring to cons and such.

We used to sing Henry the Eighth in camp, complete with cockney accent:
"I'm 'er eighth old man niamed 'Enery..."

HA! That's great! That would be fun to listen to!

I was having the very dickens of a time NOT typing the accent in...my fingers and my brain are sometimes a little too connected...but I was HEARING it with the accent which meant I should have been TYPING it with the accent...

The little voices in my head say it's time to go home now.

p.s. Once upon a time at a different job, it was WAY too easy to annoy the hell out of one of my coworkers...all we had to do was simply HUM "Henery" and he'd FLIP...he never did figure out that if he quit reacting we'd quit doing it!

HA!

When I first started dating Elaine, I was over at her apartment one day and she was listening to something that sounded vaguely familiar. It took me a while to realize it was "Ticket to Ride"...as sung by Karen Carpenter. Until I pointed out it was a Beatles song, Elaine didn't realize it was a Beatles song. And, to be honest, if I had only heard the Karen Carpenter version, I wouldn't have known it was a Beatles song either.

I stuck with her anyway.

You know Shonen Knife, right? Every time I hear "Top of the World", I think of the Shonen Knife cover on the tribute album "If I Were a Carpenter", which also features The Cranberries, Dishwalla, and Cracker, among others.

Hee hee hee.

Back in the day, my younger brother played Side One of a David Bowie album loud enough, such that it was heard well around the house. So much so, we were catching Mom humming those tunes 10 years later. The sibs wouldn't point it out that often, as it was more fun to chuckle about it to each other.
