Well, they do have a point...if the sole purpose of marriage is to produce offspring and someone gets married without doing so.

And it is ludicrous, which of course they point out in the article.

I guess it says we should get religion back out of the state, call the thing the state does a 'union' and be done with it. Get a ceremony from a judge, you have a union. Get a ceremony from a religious organization, you have a marriage (or whatever they may call it) that the state will recognize as constituting a union. That's what it IS now, but the words are mixed up, causing various kinds of havoc for people on all sides of the several issues it sucks into its gaping maw.

I would RATHER that the OPPONENTS of the same-sex marriage issue be forced into a lottery where, on a random basis, they would be told that, in nine months from the drawing, they would be presented with a child (if they "won") and that there was NOTHING that they could DO about it (and that they could "win" up to sever or eight times up to age 50!).

Watch how fast their objections evaporate should THAT law pick up momentum!
