So here I am in St Paul. The drive was fine, but the drive home might be ugly. If that happens, I might just stay for an extra day or so (if my friend can cope with having me underfoot, maybe if I stand up she'll deal better)

Reminds me ... markiv1111, are you playing this weekend ??? If so, where? I probably wouldn't be able to make it, but there is a possibility.


And speaking of shows ... come out and see me at Tillie's Bean tonight ...

I'm thrilled that you even asked; let's see if things are possible. I am playing from 9 to 12:30 both Friday and Saturday nights at a club called the Red Fox in Lakeville, Minnesota. It's a bit of a drive, but is still generally considered part of the Twin Cities metro area. I would ask that you get a local map so that you know exactly how far south to go, on Interstate 35W, before you hit Highway 70 (or it may be county road 70 -- plainly marked in either event). I do this part by feel, but not sure if it's 5 miles, 10 miles or 20. This road is the main road connecting Highway 35 to Lakeville and Farmington.

Get to the top of the ramp at County Road 70; take a left and go across the freeway, then immediately take a right on the frontage road. Go down a few miles, keeping your eyes open on the left. After passing a number of other businesses and spending enough time on the frontage road that you're going to wonder if you missed it, you will see a big fancy supper club uphill on the left. There will be a sign, but the sign is not at all well illuminated; even so, the sign will say the Red Fox. And remember that the name of my band is the Time Travelers.

I am absolutely aware that these are terrible directions. But they're the best I can do, at this time. Checking a map and calling the club would both be good ideas. Or else -- Friday when I go, I can note the miles to be traveled on each of the two roads that are really in question; then if you call me at home Saturday afternoon, I can give you a few more specifics. I don't want to put my phone number anywhere on the Internet, but all of our mutual friends will have this number, and you can steer them to this post of mine to confirm for them that I want you to have this number, and to talk to you about directions to the Red Fox.

Due to weather, I ended up coming back saturday. Good thing too ... otherwise I would probably still be stuck in Minneapolis ...

Oh ... yeah ... I'd still be there ... what a bummer ...
