I never go into stores on the day after Thanksgiving. Or at the very least I try not to. But sometimes my mind tells me to do things ... and I try to obey (if it's reasonable, that thing about the salad bar at Wendy's ... not a good idea)
Yeah ... go ahead ... mock me, but I listen to my premonitions.
I went into Walmart this morning ... call me crazy (go ahead ... call me crazy ... really) and headed back into the electronics department. I wandered around for about a minute, turned around, and walking toward me is someone I hadn't seen in 25 years. He was the younger brother of my best friend from elementary and junior high school. We chatted for a moment, I gave him my card to pass on to his older brother if he saw him (their contact is sporadic from what he said) and went on the the second part of my day about which I will post in a moment.
Life is weird sometimes.

Date: 2006-11-24 04:38 pm (UTC)I went to River Oaks (River Hills? whichever) Mall in Chicago once on the DAT/black Friday once years ago.
NEVER AGAIN will I go anywhere near a retail establishment that isn't a grocery store on the DAT/black Friday. Seriously. Nothing is worth that madness.
