Looking for some help

In recent shows a friend has said that she has had problems understanding me. My words are the most important part of what I do so this worries me. I think that this is a problem with the sound mix, not me, but I want to make sure. So, when you have seen me perform with a sound system can you understand my words?

Proper enunciation when you're singing takes work, especially in your songs because they're wordy (not that that's bad, it's just the way they are). If you want some exercises, I can get some for you.

I know how to do all that, I just think that I am doing it ... and trying to make sure ...

You saw the show at Windy last year ... the one out in the hall ???

How would you compare it to the house concert ???

Dude - you're asking a pregnant woman to compare two events, one which happened over 2 years ago, and one from almost a year ago. I can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday.

I remember thinking at Windy that your enunciation could use work. It was probably on a song I didn't already know.

now...i've almost got a stake in this poll, and in the comment from your friend. having run sound for you before.

When I ran your sound...which was the only time so far I have had the pleasure of hearing you and laughing and giggling and clapping for you...I understood every blessed word.

I am grateful if I've stumbled on the trick to making people understandable, as opposed to not, when I run sound.

I had a feeling that people had no problem understanding my words at that show ... since they were laughing at all the places that I would have wanted them to laugh at ... and you get a lot of bounce back in that room, so the sound coming back at me from the other wall seemed pretty clear

I tend to not want monitors when I perform, since I have tinitus, I don't like to wear ear plugs when I perform, and also don't want my hearing to get worse.

The two places I have had complaints at here, one is a punk club that is not all that accustomed to acoustic acts, and the other uses a lot of reverb ... which I tend to not be too fond of ...

I honestly can't remember having ever had a problem understanding you. Of course I saw you perform all the songs from the CD before I heard it, and I read lips pretty well, and I memorize lyrics pretty quickly. So...
