Considering that Ann Richards is the sort of person who'd rather see a woman raped in an alley and strangled with her own pantyhose than see her with a gun in her hands, I cannot feel sorry for her.
I know something that would cut recidivism down 100%---every prisoner, as he leaves prison, gets a delicious meal that's loaded with enough Joker Toxin to take out half of Gotham City. That would do it.
And I _do_ have personal reasons for saying this sort of thing...ask me sometime when we're face-to-face.
Um, Ann Richards vetoed a concealed-carry bill, sure, but I don't think she could have gotten elected as dog catcher in Texas if she were very much for gun control.
She rocked on many other things. So does Molly Ivins, for that matter.
