First ... performers ... and I am doing this right now

Run a cold shower for about 10 minutes every day you are in the hotel. This will save your voice ...

Second ... everyone ...

Take a t-shirt and wrap it around the pillow you are going to use. Don't bring your own pillow case because you will just forget it ... you will see that t-shirt

Third ...

Don't wake up at 6:30 in the morning to get your kids on the bus ... it's saturday and it's likely they are in a different state anyway.

*curious* Why a cold shower? I would have thought a hot one would generate more steam.

We routinely keep a wet towel over the heating/air unit in the room and let that blow moisture into the room throughout the duration of our stay. Keep rewetting the towel as necessary. Thanks for the tip on the t-shirt...I hadn't tried that. -H...

Last year at Capricon I ran across a person that had a humidifier unit that took a 2 liter bottle of water. I hope to find one because it was awesomely compact (would fit in with my stuff) and would perform a much needed service to the environ of my room.

I think that's made by Kaz.

Search for "personal" and "travel-size" humidifiers for more options. I even found one that (for a $10 part) lets you use the thing's tank OR a water bottle.
