I have ITunes on my Mac at work and this puppy is loaded. 18 gig of music.

I just made a new playlist. It's called A Floydian Nightmare.

It consists of Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon and The Squirrels Not-So-Bright-Side-Of-The-Moon matched track for track, just to scramble my brain.

The Not So Bright Side Of The Moon is one of the funniest records ever ... period. They do to modern music what Spike Jones did to the modern music if his time, tear it down and put it back together in a wildly different manner.

Their take on On The Run (the synth piece on DSOTM) has one of the funniest gags ever. I know it's a cliche, but I did almost crash my car the first time I heard it.

I'm downloading their sampler as I type. I'm looking forward to hearing this. I need a good laugh today.

I keep meaning to DL that sampler ... just to see what is included ...

I have pretty much everything they have put out now (at least on CD), and it's all worthwhile. They don't always hit, but when they do, they are my vote for the best parody band on the planet right now, and I know a lot of brilliant parodiests ...

Parodist is indeed a valid word.

The sampler is just small snatches of each song from the album.

Baby Cheevers doing the Clare Torry vocal on Eclipse is seriously cracking my shit up right now.

The other voice on that track is Joey. There are rumors that he is the actual voice for Baby Cheevers, but this has never been proved. I think the fact that they are singing together disproves that, then someone brings up multi-tracking ... bastards ...

Yup. The juxtaposition of The Beatles 'Money' with Floyd's song is brilliant. Good stuff, although I'm catching a lot of Dred Zeppelin in it. Must just be my reggae aversion piping up.

It's the Barrett Strong song that the Beatles covered (that is my geek moment for the day).

they are friends with Dread Zep and a couple members do some of the background voices on the CD.

And they are not exactly kind to reggae on this.

The high pitched voice the does some commentary and singing (if you can call it that) is occasional member of the band and Cabbage Patch Doll Baby Cheevers.
