So my questions to you are:
1) What instruments do you/did you play?
2) If you used to play but don't now why did you stop?
3) Are there any on your "gee I'd really like to try that someday" list?

1 - I have, in my odd musical career, been a drummer (to start), a percussionist (timbales and a large oil change pan, it actually sounded cool), a bass player (for a matter of weeks), a keyboardist (in my synth band), and now a guitarist.

2 - I've never really stopped any of the above, I can at least get along a little on all of the above, but I am pretty rusty on everything but guitar.

3 - I now have a mandolin, and I want to add banjo and mandocello to my list of things I can do something with soon.

1) What instruments do you/did you play? very very basic piano/keyboard1
2) If you used to play but don't now why did you stop? my 'instructor' was lazy, and i stunk
3) Are there any on your "gee I'd really like to try that someday" list? guitar & drums (especially bodhran)

1 self-taught, around age 12
Problem w/guitar - doesn't go well with RSI-wrists; problem with bodhran - doesn't go well with lack of rhythm/timing

1) What instruments do you/did you play?
violn (pretty good), viola (reallyreallygood), piano (okay), guitar (buncha chords and some strumming), recorder (when I was a kid, its been 20 years)
2) If you used to play but don't now why did you stop? When my sister and I were kids we played recorder a lot, but its such a distant memory its almost like it didn't happen, and I don't know why. Everything else, if I've learned it, I still play it at least periodically.
3) Are there any on your "gee I'd really like to try that someday" list? Um... yes. Lots. Its easier to narrow it down from "what -don't- I want to play". I really want a djembe or something similar at the moment.

1: piano, drums, bass, guitar, harmonica, ukelele. Played recorder in college for a class, and have given mandolin a shot every now and then.

2: kept up with everything but recorder. Just....it wasn't my style.

3: Bagpipes. Definitely bagpipes.

random memory.....
when we lived in MI, i used to love to climb the tree in the back yard & listen to the neighbor practice his bagpipes in the summer :) too many branches to see a thing, but fun to hear :)

1) Piano, guitar, doumbek
2) Stopped piano when folks split up and non-custodial parent got the piano, I've taken guitar lessons 3 times in my life, but as always I don't want to play enough to actually practice. Doumbek - there are just to many good players out there for me to actually play
3) I'm convinced that someday I will practice guitar - yeah right

1. Bassoon, clarinet, percussion (including ALL the marching band instruments, marimba and a very little keyboard)
2. Graduated high school and had to give back the instruments. i managed to get a bassoon on loan from UIC and played with them for a while, but then i moved downstate and had to quit.
3. upright bass (but my hands are probably too small, so i guess cello)

1) What instruments do you/did you play? Flute - alto & C; piano/keyboard
2) If you used to play but don't now why did you stop? Quit practicing piano and after bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome surgery, the piano and I no longer get along.
3) Are there any on your "gee I'd really like to try that someday" list? Nah...really just want to get better at actually setting aside time to practice so I can justify bugging Jeanne (of Flatland Ramblers fame) for practice sessions.

Large Oil change pan
