There is something in that point of view, but I look at it that the only reason it got noticed beyond the back pages of the entertainment rags that are meant to cover this sort of non-news is that he was being such an egregious schmuck in the first place.
When I first read the story about Cooter's objections, I was totally unmoved, but just now I realized that if Roscoe P. Coltrane doesn't have to call Enos a dipstick and a dipthong because he obviously can't say dipshit it will ruin the best part of the show. (I was too young to appreciate Daisy's breasts at the time.)
