That depends on how you define win. Idiot child with the cell phone has no choice but to yeild, if only by going onto the turf. The only other option is to get squished.
Now, if you mean who was the more stupid. Well, the phrase idiot child pretty much states where I stand.
The semi driver is rude not to pull over. But he isn't required to. That's right, kids, he really really isn't required to. Idiot with the cell phone is required to yield to the vehicles already on the highway.
You just supplied all the information I needed. She didn't yield? The universe has many painful ways to punish stupidity -- in this case, yapping on a cell phone and failing to yield -- she's just lucky that this wasn't one of the more painful (or permanent) punishments.
I also assumed that she was still yapping? Otherwise how could you have know, right?
I back off a little to give the semi some room to move over so he dosn't drive any cars into the ditch, assuming they are not bright enough to slow down some or speed up a lot.
Ah, OK. Somehow I was picturing the SUV driver still yapping on the cell phone after she'd driven off the road ... that would just complete the whole idiotic stereotype. (Like she wasn't bad enough to begin with!)
