There Is No Intelligent Design Here
I really don't have to say anything else about this gerbil. Just read what it says from this article, then go read the article, then gnash your teeth.

John Calvert, managing director of the Intelligent Design Network, a Kansas organization that argues the Earth was created through intentional design rather than random organism evolution.

It's not news, it's CNN

"We're not against evolution," said Calvert. "But there is a lot of evidence that suggests that life is the product of intelligence. I think it is inappropriate for the state to prejudge the question whether we are the product of design or just an occurrence."

Don't Try To Confuse Me With The Facts.
Let's talk about Benton Harbor Superintendent Paula Dawning, a sterling example of why I would never want to teach. She decided that the long discredited rumors about Louie Louie were true, even after the FBI said they weren't almost 40 years ago. Yes indeed, Paula believes that the song has dirty words in it because a parent told her so. So a middle school band in her town was not allowed to play the song, even though they are a marching band and weren't going to sing the words ... which weren't dirty to begin with. As far as intelligent design goes -- I was amused by the comment about debating whether or not the Earth is flat. See http://www.geocentricbible.com/ and you'll see the debate on whether or not the sun revolves around the earth isn't closed just yet.
